The Luftschiff Erhard

Conceived by Matthias Graf von Mastein and designed by Balko Hartmann, the Erhard is the successor ship to the Adenauer.

At over 500 metres long, the Erhard is enormous.

It takes only one glimpes of the ship to fully convey her imtimidating size. A new word entered the language - 'Erhard sickenss', whereby spectators and passengers are subject to disorinetation and nausea induced by the brian's failure to rationalise the scale of the largest ever man-made locomotive object.

It is Balko Hartmann's revolutionary 'Enhanced Lifting Agent' system that allows an airship the size of the Erhard to fly.

The system enhances the lifting properties of hydrogen by a factor of thirty whilst serendipitously rendering the potentially explosive nature of the hydrogen gas inert.

The interior of the Erhard is a sumptuous frisson of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, a homage to the halcyon days of airship travel during the twenties and thirties.
