Novel 1.

Marchel Cavendish is on probation following an incident with a fellow Untersucher.

For his sins, he is sent to the backwaters of England to pay penance with the apparently mundane task of determining who is attempting to compromise a firm auction.

With a feeling of resentment, the dissolute Cavendish embarks upon his odyssey and reacquaints himself with the irresolute Thomas Beckett, for no greater reason than he needs a chauffeur.

From such humble beginnings is forged a friendship that withstands the bests efforts of Cavendish’s Machiavellian scheming and the appearance of the duplicitous and beautiful Dr Emily Spelman.

Somehow, the friendship survives and Emily is offered chance of redemption.

Cavendish realises at the end of the case that he too is not the man he once was.

Novel 4.

A Dystopian tale of the fall of two men. The back story of Dieter Klauss.

The year is 1977. Nick Jetsam and Lucy Barclay are sent behind the Iron Curtain to the independent Principality of Tumorathia in order to conduct an audit on the Bank of Tumorathia, perhaps the most corrupt bank in the world. The bankrupt British Government are keen to acquire shares in the bank as and when due diligence has been established.

Tumorathia has been largely left untouched by the Soviets, keen to exploit its banking potential. It is fair to say that the twentieth century had largely passed Tumorathia by. Ruled by the Duchess Isobel, the dystopian, class-ridden society has barely evolved beyond the Middle Ages.

It is into this world of inequality that an unprepared Jetsam and Barclay are thrust.

Feminist Lucy is framed for a crime she did not commit whilst the irresolute Jetsam is honoured as a Knight of Tumor. His elevation into the upper echelons of Tumor society is exploited by the corrupt British Attaché, Charlie Darwin, with malevolent implications.

The Ritter Jetsam and Lucy Barclay attract the attention of Dieter Klauss, an honourable fellow Tumorathian Ritter, so setting off a chain of events that leads to Jetsam descending into iniquity and his attempts to gain mastery of the incorruptible Klauss.

Spelman and the Kiesinger

Series – Marchel Cavendish.

Novel 5.

A Luftschiff Series Novel.

How do you solve a problem like Emily Spelman?
You place her in uniform and post her off to the Luftschiff Service like some errant nineteenth century son. Moreover, where better to consign the licentious Emily than with the all-female office cadre assigned to the recently refitted airship, the Forschungsschiff Kiesinger.
Many question the wisdom of placing the command of an airship in the hands of women, entrusting them with the mission to fly vital equipment down to the European Research Station on the South Pacific island of Cutabai.
Irrespective of any concerns, recently promoted Kapitänleutnant Ingrid Claussen, master of the Kiesinger, remains determined that her girls will make a success of handling the scientific research airship.
Ingrid encounters a myriad of problems whilst preparing the vessel for its mission and is not well disposed towards having the beautiful if troubled former Oxford academic, Dr Spelman foisted upon her as a mission specialist. Ingrid harbours deep reservations concerning Emily’s suitability, questioning why an archaeologist is required to complete her ship's company.
Notwithstanding Emily’s lack of airship experience, Ingrid would most certainly have been concerned had she been aware of the fact that Emily has just spent four weeks in a Bavarian clinic to treat her recent depression that had manifested itself in antisocial behaviour.
Typically, Emily considered the diagnosis an oxymoron if ever one existed, having behaved in a dissolute and anything but antisocial manner.
It remains to be seen if Emily will blossom in her role as a Luftschiff officer after completing her basic training at Luftschiff School.
The voyage to Cutabai in the South Pacific proves to be anything but idyllic, as the ladies of the Kiesinger become the victims of political machinations and treachery.
This story, whilst being included in the Marchel Cavendish series of novels, is the second novel specifically involving the Luftschiff Service and is a follow up to the Ghost on the Erhard.
